Yes – Things Keep Lookin’ Up for Shirley Jackson & Her Good Rockin’ Daddys with the 22nd Annual Maple Blues Awards announcing Shirley Jackson as ‘Horn Player of the Year’ along with a nomination for Music Educator of the Year with the Nova Scotia Music Awards 2019.

For 30 years Shirley Jackson & her Good Rockin’ Daddys have performed their blend of high energy rockin’ Blues, Jump, and Swing at shows across Canada. Their repertoire features songs written by Shirley Jackson and inspired by the sounds of the ‘Big Horn’ bands in the style of Roomful of Blues, Big Jay McNeely and The Colin James Little Big Band.

The band is comprised of: Shirley Jackson on vocals and tenor saxophone; her son, Jef Wirchenko, on bass; Tom Crilley on guitar; Gary Potts on drums.; Dawn Hatfield on baritone saxophone, and Dave Harrison on trumpet.
